Sunday School

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! We are once again utilizing a curriculum from Pflaum, with lessons that mirror the weekly scripture studied in Adult Christian Formation, and the worship service.

If you haven’t already done so, please register your child(ren) officially by filing out a registration form. They can be submitted below.

We ask that you keep the Catechists and Children’s Ministry leaders in your prayers. If you are able to volunteer your time to substitute teach, and/or assist with special event programs, please let us know.

Here are some details for your review:

Pre-School (3 & 4-years-old)...

Sunday School begins at 9:45am and will continue through the first half of the 10.45am Mass; up to the giving of the Peace. After the Peace, during the Offertory, please pick your child up from the classroom and bring them into the church for the remainder of Mass.

 Kindergarten through 5th Grade...

Sunday School begins at 9:45am and ends at 10:30am. Snack time will be offered before and after Sunday School courtesy of the parish coffee group. Parents are responsible for picking up their children at 10:30am. Please be prompt in picking up your children as a courtesy to our Sunday School teachers. They may be heading to the 10:45 mass also!

Children in Church...

There will likely be more children in Sunday Mass as a result of our new schedule. This is not entirely by accident. It is appropriate for all those receiving communion, including children who receive, to participate in the entire Mass. To assist in this cultural change at St. Michael's, lectionary-based, age-appropriate Children's Bulletins are now available in the back of the church. Also in the back of the church is a resource that outlines some useful ways to manage younger children in church. We appreciate all your help aiding in this transition.
