The Chancel Organ
In 1972 Dorothy Kelly
donated our 23 rank Casavant Pipe Organ to the church. It served us well
for many years. With the growth of the choir, both in size and demands of
the music, we decided to enlarge the Casavant. Space being the critical
factor we chose to add digital stops to the Casavant. After much searching
we chose the Phoenix organ company of Peterborough, Canada. They
specialize in organs for the Anglican Church and provided us with a three manual
console with 45 digital stops. The organ is a custom instrument with two
specifications, playable separately, designed to accompany the Anglican service
and play repertoire of the English Romantic and French Romantic periods.
The English sampled stops are from famous Harrison and Willis organs. The
French sampled stops are from Cavaille-Coll and Letourneau organs.
