Lent 2010

Lent points our attention to our sinful character and the solution through the pending Passion of Our Lord. From the words of the Ash Wednesday liturgy: “I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self examination and repentence; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.”

Lenten Almsgiving Project 2010

Contributions will benefit those suffering in earthquake-torn Haiti.
Children can gather coins in an empty beverage can, covered with a “mite can” label. The full mite cans are brought to church the Sunday after Easter (April 11), filled with flowers, and attached to a cross. Click here for this year’s mite can label.
Checks may be made out to St. Michael’s; write “Haiti Fund” on the memo line.
