Music director, Susan Nalbach Lutz, was born and raised in
Oak Park, IL, a suburb of Chicago.
She attended Northwestern
University in Evanston, IL
where she received Bachelor of Music (voice), Bachelor of Music Education, and
Master of Music degrees. While at
N.U. she met her husband, Geoffrey.
They moved to Hinsdale, IL where their three children, Karl, Carrie,
and Mary Beth were born. During this
time Susan began her private in home-music studio.
As a respected singer in the Chicago area Sue continued to perform as a
soloist and a chorister with many of that city’s best musical organizations.
In 1988 the Lutzes sold almost everything except the kids and the dog and
moved to Fallbrook, CA where Sue became active in the musical activities of North
San Diego County.
She taught vocal classes at
Palomar
College, sang in local
churches, and opened her home music studio.
In the fall of 2000 she accepted a position as alto section leader at
St. Michael’s By-the-Sea, and in fall 2006 she became the church’s music
director. In addition to her responsibilities at St. Michael’s, Sue is
currently a staff singer with the La Jolla Symphony Chorus, and teaches
piano and voice privately in her home studio in coastal Oceanside.
