Fr. Moquin

A native of San Diego, Father Moquin received his B.A. degree from San Diego State University in 1977.  In 1980, he earned a Master of Divinity degree from Nashotah House Theological Seminary and was ordained a priest in December 1980 by the Rt. Rev. Robert Wolterstorff, first Bishop of San Diego.  

He became the first curate at St. Michael’s By-the-Sea from 1980-1986 as well as the North County College Chaplain for Diocese of San Diego (1980-1981). He served as the founding vicar of Holy Cross Mission in the La Costa neighborhood of Carlsbad from November 1986 through April 1996. He returned to St. Michael’s to become the third rector of the parish on May 5, 1996.

He was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy Chaplain Corps in July 1988 and presently holds the rank of Captain. He serves as the Deputy Force Chaplain for Reserve Matters, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific.

He is the bishop’s representative on Armed Forces Ministry in the Diocese of San Diego.

He is a member of the Society of the Holy Cross (Societas Sanctae Crucis), the oldest Catholic devotional society for priests in the Anglican Communion. 
 
Father Moquin and his wife Kristina live in Carlsbad with their three children, Ryan, Kasandra and Jocelyne.
